  Flood of eviction lawsuits possible
Posted by: Nerine - 06-30-2021, 12:00 PM - Forum: Arbitration information - No Replies

June 29, 2021

State and local governments are under increasing time pressure to prepare for a flood of eviction lawsuits expected once the federal government’s pandemic eviction moratorium expires on July 31.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced Thursday that it would again extend its moratorium for an additional month, moving it from June 30 to July 31.

So far, only five states — Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, California — and the District of Columbia have put in place renter protections that extend beyond July 31. On Friday, California became the most recent state to push safeguards beyond those of the federal government, when Gov. Gavin Newsom extended the state's eviction moratorium through Sept. 30. However, critics argue the measure is too weak in that it requires tenants to pay partial back rent to avoid eviction.

Posted by: Nerine - 06-28-2021, 12:03 PM - Forum: Arbitration information - No Replies

There’s been a surge in consumer complaints about mobile payment apps and digital wallets, such as Venmo, Cash App, Coinbase, and Zelle, as more Americans go cashless.

That’s according to a new report from the U.S. Public Interest Research Group, a policy and research organization.
U.S. PIRG reviewed 9,277 complaints received by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from April 2017 to April 2021, finding a pattern of issues with digital wallets, scams, and customer service.

  Bridgewater Chevrolet Insurance Dispute
Posted by: Nerine - 06-23-2021, 03:07 PM - Forum: Past or Current cases - No Replies

Here is a previous question that was asked by *** (Identity withheld for privacy reason).

I paid for a policy through Bridgewater Chevrolet for insurance on windshield keys in tires I got a broken crack in my windshield took the car in and stay for 4 days or more or less and they said they couldn't fix it it was on the driver side and it is against the law to repair a window on the driver side the owner told them his name is ... to return my money. I went to the finance department and they said since the money $745 was tied up in my finance contract I had to wait until I got ready to pay the car off now I'm trying to pay the car off I called them and they told me they want to prorate the policy and I want and need my $745 in full because they said the law says in New Jersey they can't fix my windshield but when I bought the policy I lived in New Jersey and so they should have never sold me a bogus and false policy for $745 the guy that I'm dealing with from the finance place name is Bridgewater Chevy dealer and they're telling me now they're not paying me for the policy but I I didn't use the policy they told me to wait and now that I have waited now they don't want to pay.

I had contacted a lawyer and he said Safelite fixed windows on that side but they still would not fix my window because they said it was against the law sale policy if it's against the law to fix a window a broken window in New Jersey under that policy knowing that I lived in New Jersey.

Hello, I just wanna ask if I can file child support since I am a Filipina and live in the Philippines and the father of my son is a Canadian. My son was already a Canadian citizen but we have never been to Canada. I just hate when every time I ask his father for my 4-year-old son's needs and it ends up us fighting. I would like it by email since my English is not really fluent. By the way, we are not married to his father but on his birth certificate, his father signed it as his father. Ma'am/Sir I don't know how much this cost I am just an online seller so I am afraid if this cost very expensive.
