I was released from prison in 2015, and went to settle my child support arrears with my child's mother. I gave her a lump sum of cash. In 2017 my child's mother wrote a letter and she went to the child support office to wipe out the debt but was told that cannot be done and I have to pay 10% in arrears from years ago. I was told I owe $10,000 plus $20,000 in interest. I offered a $3000 settlement but they denied it, then I offered $4000 which was also denied. I spent 10-15 yrs in prison and shouldn't owe that amount and I just want this settled.
