Hi there! Do you cover questions about MGL 186 sec 24? I saw your website on a legal forum about it. I requested a lease breakage request from my property manager xxxxx on the basis of MGL 186 sec 24 (with 2 police reports filed). The property manager said I was no longer liable to them for the unit, but my old roommate is messaging me saying I'm still liable.
Her argument is that the police reports I gave were not followed up with or taken further so I didn't meet the legal standard for MGL 186. Is this true? Is there legal liability I should be worried about?
