I'm being sued by American Express. They have filed a lawsuit and I have to provide an answer by tomorrow. Is there enough time to act on the arbitration provision within the contract? American Express is suing me for a consumer debt of $22,477.50. I have been in contact with the lawyer representing American Express trying to reach a settlement. They turned down my first offer and offered a counter offer which I turned down and increased my original offer. I have called and left messages but have not heard back from their lawyer.
