My ex-husband XXXX XXXX and I got divorced in 2017 and the divorce is settled but he doesn't want to give the army the divorce papers so that I can have access to the portion protection retirement payment as the former spouse of an ex-military. We have been to court before and there is a court order now but I am holding back from signing because I don't have enough information about military divorce and the lawyer I currently have doesn't have any information about military divorce. He is receiving his retirement pay from the army but because he hasn't brought in the divorce papers I haven't been receiving the percentage of the funds I am supposed to get. We have a son together that is now 20 years old.
