I am just trying to defend my rights and need some legal advice. I purchased a house in Merced County over eight years ago. When I purchased the house it had a carport. I needed a garage and because the space was already there I built the carport into a garage, but I did so without a permit. I have installed solar panels and electricity and I cannot afford to tear it down if that's what they will be forcing me to do. Recently the county is looking into it, I had someone come to my house but because I was sick I didn't get to speak to them. I would like to know what I can do if the county decides to take legal action against me.
