Here is a previous question that was asked by ***(Identity withheld for privacy reason). My student loan (mid-1990's) which was originally about 11,000.00 is now 44,000. I have paid on it over the years but not regularly. I could never afford the high monthly payments. I work in a low-paying field (social services) and was a single parent making 20,000.00 for many years. Now they want to do offsets. I will retire in a few years. Can they offset my social security check? I would really like your advice. They are highway robbers. Thanks |
