14 Amendment right violation - Donesia - 06-21-2022

Here is a previous case by *** (Identity withheld for privacy reasons).

I'm seeking a lawyer that works pro-bono. I'm homeless and don't have any money to get legal aid but I would like my day in court. My issue started 30 years ago when I was indicted and charged by the Federal government for Marijuana. They tried to give me 10 to life in prison but I was given 5 years and got out. Since then 4 other things had happened and I got all the paperwork to prove it. I have been trying to build my case for over 6 years now just that I could not afford a lawyer. I believed my 14 amendment right was violated.

My wife "L" got pregnant and had my son a little before I went to prison. When I came out in 2000, I met "T" and she became pregnant with my child. We decided to move in together and I was supporting her and the child. My wife "L" at the time was having problems with her boyfriend she met while I was in prison. They were splitting up so I decided to take custody of our son who was around 6-7 years at the time. IĀ got custody in 2001 and he was living with me and "T". "T" made things a little easy for me as she helped to take care of him while I went to work. I supported her and the children until she left and took the baby with her in 2002. She then filed for child support in 2006 in which the judge ordered me to pay $600 per month and this was based on no proof of income. I didn't make that court date, that's why I thought they were pushing it. They said the ruling was based on them not having any evidence of child support. I did the paperwork that I couldn't afford $600 and in 2007 I filed back to try and get the amount reduced. Thinking that they would reduce the amount since I had only earned 35K for the year, instead, the amount was raised to $744 by the same judge. This took a toll on me as I was not earning enough to be paying that amount in child support plus I was a single father, raising my son alone with no support. I got fired from my job, they kept taking my money, I lost my bank account, and I became homeless. I have been homeless for 8 years now. My teeth have fallen out because I couldn't afford food, I have been hungry and this has affected me mentally and emotionally. They have also taken my driver's license six times, each time I was able to get it back but I don't know how they could be able to do that.

I'm trying to get back on my feet but cannot afford it. This is part of my emotional problem. I'm now seeing a therapist, have medical records and so many things about the case. I graduated from college, never been charged. Everybody I knew was smoking weed around me so I understood back then why I did what I did but there was no due process. Additionally, I never went to court so how could the judge charge a single dad $744 when I only make 35K for the year on average. They never gave me a chance or any options. I would like to figure this out and I have a box of paperwork to make it easier for my case. I would like a lawyer that does family law.
