Falsely arrested at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino - Donesia - 02-17-2022 Here is a previous case by *** (Identity withheld for privacy reason). I am trying to find a lawyer to assist me with violation of my civil rights. I was falsely arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department on Sep 9, 2021, for something I did not know of and they had no probable cause. I was staying at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino owned by MGM in Las Vegas when I was arrested for being on the lookout while someone broke into a vehicle. I was a patron at the hotel and they illegally detained me, not knowing what crime was committed. The police statement was a lie. They tried to cover up that they had screwed up. They said I was arrested in the parking lot but that was not the case. I believed I was racially profiled. I had nothing to do with why they were detaining me. They kept me in a room for more than two hours trying to interrogate me. I was exercising my rights so I didn't give them my first name and the officer told me that he will be arresting me. I told them that they were making a mistake but they just went off what the security guard at the hotel told them. They arrested three persons and when I got to the parking lot I only saw one person so I don't know where the third person came from. They also mentioned that there was a female there but the cameras will show there was no female there. The arresting officer introduce himself as a private investigator but on the report, it said security guard which I didn't understand. The private investigator was dressed in plain clothes when I was inside the room with multiple security guards. I was humiliated and the stress I went through. They messed up my time in Vegas. I was not allowed to go back to the hotel, so when I was released I went home. They lied, especially the metro officer who gave the security guard my incorrect name. I believed that's why they put down on the police report that I gave a false statement. I work as a contractor for the government and if they should run a background check that will affect my work. I am a M life reward member and they didn't know I had a room at the hotel and they didn't know who I was until I called them to complain about what happened to me. The hotel did refund my money and apologized but they didn't offer anything else, no compensation and no written apology. My case was closed and dismissed in mid-November, but I should be allowed to file a suit against them. The DA dismissed my case because I told them I was innocent. I have receipts from the hotel when I checked in. The security cameras will show that I was not in any criminal act. I wrote the attorney general because it has been hard to find an attorney to represent me. I also filed a complaint to the Citizen Review Board about the police officers and what happened to me. The violation and humiliation I went through I feel I should be compensated over 200k. |
